PhD in Political and Social Sciences from the Pompeu Fabra University (UPF) and Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of Barcelona (UB), he currently directs the Centre for Opinion Studies. Previously, he was a Ramón y Cajal researcher at the UB, a postdoctoral researcher at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) and a predoctoral researcher at the UPF. He has also been a visiting researcher at the universities of Gothenburg, Yale and Essex.

His research deals with the comparative study of political preferences and behaviour. He has worked on issues such as women's suffrage, the political effects of terrorism and violence, the electoral consequences of corruption, preferences for independence and national identity, among others. He is currently working on issues related to democratic preferences and political polarisation. He has specialised in the use of quantitative and experimental methods for the study of citizens' political preferences.

In terms of teaching, he has lectured on the methodology of political science, electoral analysis and political behaviour and comparative politics, among others. He has also participated in research dissemination tasks in the media, such as the newspaper Ara, and in 2020 he published the book Principi de realitat sobre el procés independentista a Catalunya (El Avenç).
